Please read this before purchasing. It covers what our hats are, what they aren't, and what we can and can't promise.

Our hats are apparel, not medical products

Cappin' hats are fashion accessories. They are not medical devices, therapeutic products, hair treatments, or cosmetics. They are not evaluated, approved, or regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any equivalent authority.

Nothing on this site — including our product descriptions, our blog, our "Why Satin" page, or our marketing — is medical advice, dermatological advice, or trichological advice, and none of it should be treated as a substitute for consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

What we do and don't claim about hair

Satin has a smoother, lower-friction surface than cotton or polyester, and reduced friction is generally associated with less mechanical stress on hair. That is the basis for our product and we believe it's sound.

What we do not claim: that our hats prevent hair loss, treat any hair or scalp condition, regrow hair, cure damage, or produce any specific outcome for any individual.

Results vary. Hair health depends on genetics, hormones, medication, diet, styling practices, chemical treatments, heat, and many other factors that a hat has no influence over. We can't promise you a particular result and we won't pretend otherwise.

If you're experiencing hair loss, scalp irritation, or any condition that concerns you, please see a doctor or dermatologist. A hat is not a diagnosis and it is not a treatment.

Materials, allergies and sensitivities

Our hats are made with synthetic materials, including polyester-based satin lining and, on some styles, polyurethane-based vegan leather. Some styles use water-repellent finishes.

If you have known sensitivities or allergies to synthetic fabrics, dyes, or finishes, please check with us before ordering — email info@cappinshop.com and we'll tell you exactly what a given style is made from.

Discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional if you experience any skin irritation, itching, rash, or other adverse reaction. We are not liable for allergic or sensitivity reactions to materials disclosed in our product listings.

Fit and wear

Our hats have adjustable closures and fit approximately 21–24 in / 53–61 cm. A hat should never be worn tight enough to cause pressure, discomfort, or a lasting mark on your skin. Sustained tension on the hair follicle over long periods is associated with traction alopecia. Wear yours comfortably loose.

Follow our care instructions. Damage caused by machine washing, drying, bleach, chemical treatment, alteration, or misuse is not covered by any warranty.

Water resistance

Styles described as waterproof or water-repellent are designed to repel rain and light precipitation. They are not fully waterproof, are not designed for submersion or swimming, and do not guarantee that your hair will stay dry. Water-repellent finishes wear down with use and washing.

Product appearance

Colors, prints, and satin sheen vary across screens and lighting conditions. Handmade and small-batch elements mean minor variation between individual pieces is normal and is not a defect.

Third-party content

Our site may link to third-party websites or reference third-party information. We don't control those sources and aren't responsible for their content or accuracy.

Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cappin' is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss arising from the use or misuse of our products, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
